Irish’s Last Day Lunch Out at Memphis

Memphis Kitchen

It was Irish last day and Ai’s last few days in ACS and we decided to have a lunch out for them together with Mamu. We decided to eat at Memphis Kitchen since it is one of our favorite place to eat because of the affordable and yummy food.

I had a previous entry on this place and because I bought a good camera this time, I decided to blog about it again. Also, the food looks yummy in the photos I’ve taken.

This place serves yummy pulutan dishes that is also good lunch meals. They are located at Pioneer Center near Kapitoyo Pasig. Their place has an air conditioned area and a non-air conditioned one outside to accommodate larger groups and for those who prefer to smoke. If you want to order Crispy Pata, you need to tell them right away since this may take a long while as the dish is cooked upon order.

We ordered our usual favorites, Pork Binagoongan, Crispy Tawilis, Sizzling Sisig and of course, the Crispy Pata.We waited for a while for our orders to come.

Pork Binagoongan

Pork Binagoongan

The Pork Binagoongan is placed in a bed of ensaladang talong and you get to eat it together with the pork. It is a yummy combination especially with rice.

Sizzling Sisig

Sizzling Sisig

The Sizzling Sisig is not that “sizzling” when it arrived. The egg on top was quite difficult to cook because the plate was not that hot enough. We just quickly mixed it to save the little heat it had. The dish itself was so-so, not something to brag about especially it is not that hot anymore. I hope they serve this with a real sizzling plate so that we could enjoy a sizzling plate of sisig next time.

Crispy Tawilis

Crispy Tawilis

The Crispy Tawilis was good especially with the dip that comes with it. It is a sweet vinegar with some spices added. It complements the fried fish well. The one that was served to us was not that hot anymore. I suspect that they waited for the other dish so that it could be served to us all together. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it and it immediately disappeared upon serving.

Crispy Pata

The Crispy Pata was the star of the table, as usual. It was served hot and super crispy. It comes with a soy sauce and sweet vinegar dip which complements it very well. The skin was crispy to the bite and the meat was tender and yummy. It was really good with beer but it is also good with rice. Some couldn’t resist to have a second serving of rice for this dish.

It was really filling and the food was really yummy. I wonder how many calories this mouth watering dishes added up to our weight. I think we need more exercise after this. I will surely miss having lunch with Ai and Irish 😦 .
