We wanted to have a get-together before the holiday season is over so, Pat, Ate Nerisse, Millet and I decided to have dinner for our holiday celebration. We met at Alabang Town Center and decided to dine at California Pizza Kitchen for dinner. The restaurant is located at Corte de las Palmas along with T.G.I.F and other restaurants in ATC.
Together with Daniel, Millet’s boyfriend, we all ordered different dishes for dinner. We had The Original BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad, Fettuccine with Garlic Cream Sauce, Buffalo Chicken Pizza and The Works Pizza.
The salad came first. The Original BBQ Chicken Chopped has lettuce, black beans, sweet corn, corn tortilla strips and cheese mixed with ranch dressing and topped with BBQ Chicken breast with tomatoes and onions. It was an instant hit! The BBQ chicken was really yummy together with the other veggies and the dressing. The chicken adds flavor to the salad. The mix of flavors was good and you can easily identify what ingredient you are munching on.
The next dish was Fettuccine with Garlic Cream Sauce. This dish is very creamy. The garlic-Parmesan and parsley blends well with the pasta.
We tried their Buffalo Chicken Pizza since it was tagged as a new dish in their menu and we wanted to try it. The pizza is composed of grilled chicken which marinated in spicy Buffalo sauce with Mozzarella cheese, carrots, celery and crumbled Gorgonzola cheese. It is served with a side of Gorgonzola ranch dressing. The pizza was spicy and you don’t need to add some hot sauce anymore (but you may still do so if you like). The toppings are what you usually see on a platter of a Buffalo wings dish which serves as neutralizer for the spice. The ranch dressing on the side completes the whole experience. It is like eating a Buffalo wings only that it is a pizza. A yummy dish you must try.
Since we didn’t expect that Daniel will come, we only ordered dishes that would be good for the four of us but since he was there, we ordered another pizza, The Works Pizza. It is made up of sweet Italian sausage, pepperoni, sautéed mushrooms, Mozzarella cheese, mild onions, green peppers, black olives and our tomato sauce. It was also good and it is a nice we have that since not all of us liked the spiciness of the other pizza dish we ordered.
We finished all the dishes and had some take-homes since we over estimates the food we ordered. But it was okay. The mall was already closed and only the restaurants remain open for the diners when we finished. We stayed for a while since we were so full of all the yummy food.
After the yummy dishes, we went to Starbucks in SLEX to unwind some more. It was a gastronomical feast for us that night and I am sure we will do that again on our next get-together.
