High School Barkada Reunion at Recipes by Café Metro

Recipes by Café Metro

Katrina was in Quezon City for a research and since Archie recently passed the Civil Engineering Board Examinations, they decided to meet up, celebrate and have a mini reunion.

Together with Joms, we went to Greenbelt 3 to meet up with Katrina, Adrian, Archie, KC, Nikki and Ryan. They were already in Recipes by Café Metro when we got there.

Recipes is located among the many restaurants in Greenbelt 3. We got lost at first but the guards around the area was accommodating when we asked them where to find it. It was near the fountain and along the restaurants which you will not miss when walking along there.

We found my High School friends already settled inside and we greeted them upon arriving. They already have ordered so we also got hold of the menu to choose our dinner.

I always loved their Gising Gising and so I opt to order it and since Joms haven’t tasted the General’s Chicken, we also ordered it. KC and Nikki also ordered the same with us. Meanwhile, Katrina and Adrian ordered Adobo Flakes with Rice and Egg and Green Mangoes topped with Tomatoes, Onions and Chicharon with Bagoong on the side. Archie just ordered a glass of lemonade since he already ate when they were waiting for us earlier.

Gising Gising

Gising Gising

The Gising Gising was a classic all time favorite. I always loved the coconut milk mixed with the crunch of the Baguio beans cut in very small pieces. The spiciness adds a kick to it and it is yummy all together. It will always be a favorite in that Restaurant.

General's Chicken

General's Chicken

The General’s Chicken is tender and yummy together with the sauce which is a mix of sweet and saltiness. The eggplant also adds flavor to it and it goes very well with the chicken.

The Adobo Flakes with Rice and Egg has shredded pork adobo served with egg on the side. The classic Filipino dish with a twist. It was good but a little dry, but nevertheless very yummy. Mental Note: I’ll order it the next time we eat there. Paired with the Green Mangoes topped with Tomatoes, Onions and Chicharon with Bagoong on the side, the dish is really really yummy. The chicharon adds a crunch to the mangoes and adds a bit of saltiness making you add just a bit of the bagoong.

It was a filling meal and we had a lot of catching up that night. We learned a lot of things since the last time we met and it was fun night. We went to Red Mango for dessert after a while since the place is already getting crowded.

We enjoyed the small reunion and it was a really fun night. We are all looking forward to the nest meet-up we will have.
