We heard from our office mates that the famous McDonald’s Twister Fries is back so Irish, Yhene, Jape, Joms and I headed to the nearest McDonald’s after work.
We went to McDonald’s Pearl Drive which is just a few blocks away from our building. Their store is one of those which has a McCafé in it. It is small but it can accommodate groups of people dining in. It also has a few customers at night since most of the office people have already gone home.
I ordered a Cheese Burger Value Meal and upgraded my fries to their Twister Fries. Joms ordered a Cheese Burger Deluxe Value Meal. He was supposed to upgrade his fries to the new Large Fries but the crew didn’t hear him when he said that. We just got back a while later and ordered one and an extra Chocolate Sundae for me.
Jape ordered a Chicken Spaghetti Meal while Irish and Yhene ordered their own Twister Fries.
The Twister Fries’ carton is designed with Pixar’s Ice Age 3 which will be on cinemas on July 3. It is overflowing with curly french fries as you order one. But sad to say, the twister fries was not the same as the one we loved when we were kids. It seems that the pieces were broken into shorter curls before frying that’s why it is rare to see a fully twisted long fries in one. I happen to get one but they didn’t. Also, the fries were already soggy when we were eating it. It was not crispy anymore. It was just an ordinary fries and nothing special about it anymore.
It was still nice to eat one of the things you loved back when you were a kid. Even though the Twister Fries were not as good as before, I am still happy that I could once again order one from McDonald’s.
After that eating, we headed home. It was a no-gimmick friday night that night as we all wanted to rest at home.
