Italian Dinner at Amici

After the Batangas trip, Yhene, Irish, Wazer, Jape, Ai, Donald, Joms and I are together again for dinner at SM Mega Atrium. It was Irish’s treat because she was happy that day. We wanted some pasta that night that’s why we decided to eat at Amici.

Amici is located at the second level of the Mega Atrium. It serves pizza, pasta and anything Italian. They have a variety of food choices. Most of them, we can not pronounce. We rely on the description of the food in the menu when we are ordering. We ate there before and their food is nice that is why we came back. Their plate of pasta is generally good for two but if you have a really huge appetite, you could finish up their servings.

We ordered Mozzarella Fritto, Lasagne Al Forno, Spaghetti Alla Carbonara, Spaghetti Aglio Olio E Pepperoncino, Spaghetti White Vongole E Gamberetti, Panne Al salmone Affumicato and Quattro Stagioni (Four Seasons) Pizza.

Amici Menu and Dishes

The Mozarella Fritto came first and we all had a bite. It was good. The cheese is melted inside a crust and when you bite into it, the cheese just flows out. It is accompanied with a red sauce. I think it is made of tomato because of its slight sweet and sourness. Just the right combination, cheese and tomatoes.

The Quattro Stagioni (Four Seasons) Pizza came next. We shared it and it tasted good. The pizza was freshly baked and was still hot when served. The crust is just right. There are a lot of topping on it and all blends well. I just find it a bit salty since the cheese melted well on it but overall, it was a great pizza.

I ordered the Lasagne Al Forno and the slice was big. The Lasagna is surrounded by a rich tomato sauce that blends well with the beef, cheese and pasta combination. There is a generous amount of Parmesan cheese on top of it and a slice of bread to complement the dish. The taste was rich and I liked it. There is a bit sourness and the herbs that were used were overpowering but overall it tasted good. I liked it.

I tasted the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara before and I get to taste it again since I asked Joms for a piece. I should say that it is my favorite in Amici. The white sauce is rich and creamy and the bacon complements the creaminess of the sauce and the pasta combined. It also has a lot of Parmesan on top giving another layer of saltiness in the dish.  It also comes with a piece of bread with it.

I also asked Irish for a piece of her Spaghetti Aglio Olio E Pepperoncino. It was a different kind of pasta dish since it is a bit spicy. It is an oil based pasta and although I am not used to those kind of sauce, I liked it.  The Spaghetti White Vongole E Gamberetti is a pasta that has a lot of seafood toppings on it. I get to taste it also and it was also good. It is good for people who like seafoods in their pasta since the seafoods on it were fresh and delicious. I didn’t get to taste Ai‘s Panne Al salmone Affumicato but I think it also taste good. Maybe next time we eat there, I would order it just to have a taste.

Strawberry and Mint Chocolate Gelato

Strawberry and Mint Chocolate Gelato

After finishing up all our pasta, which was really really filling, Some of us decided to order Gelato for dessert. I was too full to order one so I just asked for a piece of what they ordered. Yhene and wazer ordered a Strawberry Gelato and it tasted good. You could really taste strawberries and it was really a nice way to wash up all the pasta you’ve eated.  Ai and Donald ordered a Mint Chocolate flavored Gelato. Although it was also good, I’m really not a fan of mint and chocolate combined. It tasted like the Dynamite candy. The mintiness is blending with the chocolatey flavor of the ice cream. It was good but really not my favorite.

It was a really filling dinner and we are greateful that Irish treated us. We all went home afterwards, all full and contented with the abundant meal we just had.
