Flip invited us to another gig of Ruweda and since we were already their fans, Irish, Joms and I went to see them play again.
After work, we waited in the office for Flip and Celene to come back so that we could all go together in Cuerdas Rest-Bar in Bagong Ilog Pasig. The resto-bar was located along C5 road. We were there at about 8pm and since there were only a few bands present at that time, we waited until about 9pm before we go in. The event was produced by Heartburn productions and the ticket price was P150 that comes with one free beer. They also gave us stickers (we thought it was tickets like in the previous gig).
Ruweda was lined up second that night. We were all excited since Irish brought a camera to record them as they play. I think their band has the most paparazzi that night. All of us took pictures of them while they play.
We stayed for a while consuming our free booze. We listened to the next band but most of us can’t stand it because they played too loud. I only survived them play because I had earphones that time and is listening and watching to Ruweda‘s video I recorded earlier (i couldn’t hear much of it though because they really have loud sounds. I was only watching the video). Soon, Flip’s other band mates went home. We decided to stay a while to finish the free booze. We agreed to eat something after since all of us haven’t had a decent meal since lunch.
We went to Katipunan at Tia Maria’s Cantina to eat and drink some alcohol. Their restaurant is Mexican themed. They have tables outside the store for those who smoke and they also have an air conditioned area. Since there were no tables available outside, we stayed in the air conditioned area. The place is nice and has dim lighting. Their waitresses were dressed in Mexican outfit and they constantly go around to tend to the needs of the customers. I didn’t get to see their restrooms since Celene advised us to go to Starbucks (it was just right next to their restaurant) because she don’t like the restroom there.
We ordered a bucket of beer which comes with 8 sticks of barbecue, Carnitas for Irish, Quarter Chicken for me and Joms and Chicadillas for Celene and Flip. Irish also ordered a pitcher of Zombie since she was not allowed to drink beer that time.
The bucket of beer with barbecue first arrived and the barbecue was delicious. It was really good for pulutan. It also comes with a salsa dip that was a good combination with the meat. We almost finished the 8 sticks before the rest of our ordres arrived. Our food finally arrived and we were all excited to have a taste of it (and also because we were already super hungry that time). I tasted Irish’s Carnitas and it was good. It comes with a flavored rice. It was good but I think it was a little salty. Also, it looked different from the picture in the menu that’s why we didn’t recognize that it was for Irish. The Quarter Chicken was also god. It has the same rice like that of Irish’s food. It also comes with some tortillas and some mushrooms and corn. The chicken tasted good. It was quite sweet and you could taste the flavor of the marinade in the meat as you bite it. Celene and Flip’s Chicadilla came last and it comes with two fried chicken and four quezadillas. the quezadillas has cheese inside a soft tortilla that was grilled. It comes with a cream cheese dip. The chicken was also good but some of it still has blood in the bones that’s why we didn’t finished it.The zombie was good. I only drank a bottle of San Mig Light and helped Irish finish the pitcher of Zombie. It was a mixture of juice, rum, brandy and grenadine as to what I tasted.
We finished eating and drinking at about 12am. We decided to go home. Celene was accompanied home first. We had a little roadtrip to Quezon City before heading back south. We had a little glimpse of Antipolo on the way. Flip dropped Joms and I at Sucat while Irish to Las Piñas. It was afun night hanging around those people.
